Partnership Opportunities
Ways in which agencies and individuals can get involved.
Support Grant Making in North Carolina
The North Carolina Community AIDS Fund provides funds to agencies providing quality HIV prevention and care services in North Carolina. We support local agencies and statewide networks to improve the HIV prevention and care network in all parts of our state. All funded agencies will work with our evaluators to assure that we are able to measure impact and learn from our experiences.
Every contribution makes a difference to our state. If you would like to make a contribution or endow a named fund, please contact the NC Community AIDS Fund.
Grantees
The North Carolina Community AIDS Fund funds agencies across the state that provide HIV prevention and care services. Priority is given to prevention programs, but NC CAF defines prevention broadly including prevention for positives programs and initiatives that combine prevention and care.
Providing Technical Assistance
The North Carolina Community AIDS Fund seeks to support communities through the funding of services and by increasing the capacity of those agencies providing HIV services, or interested in providing services. We are seeking a variety of professionals that are able to provide a few hours of pro-bono technical assistance to agencies in our community. Areas of interest include accounting, marketing, Board development, fundraising and grant writing, and facilitation.
Seeking Technical Assistance
Agencies can receive technical assistance to support organizational capacity building and community development through the NC CAF. Technical assistance is provided by NC CAF and Center for Health Policy staff as well as volunteers. The NC CAF also maintains a list of other resources in the community that provide technical assistance.
AmeriCorps Sponsor
AmeriCorps members work full time contributing to individual agencies and the community. They receive a small stipend for their work. The NC CAF is seeking support for the AmeriCorps program, to defray the cost of the program for site hosts, support their community service project, and support the management of the program.
AmeriCorps Member
The North Carolina Community AIDS Fund, Triangle area, will host five National AIDS Fund AmeriCorps/Caring Counts members in the fall 2009. If you are interested in serving your community, please log onto www.AmeriCorps.org for an application.

One day a week they come together for training and to work on community service projects. AmeriCorps/Community Care members receive a stipend, health care, and an educational award upon completion of their service.
AmeriCorps Host Agency
AmeriCorps/Caring Counts members are placed in local agencies (nonprofits and governmental) to work four days a week for eleven months. AmeriCorps members can provide health education, coordinate testing initiatives, manage food pantries, provide case management, and more. Host agencies are responsible for paying a portion of the member’s stipend, providing supervision, and providing an adequate work environment to do their job.

Each team of AmeriCorps/Caring Counts members performs community service projects throughout the year. Projects may include food drives, maintenance work, HIV testing days, or teach-ins. |
